| Those
Terrible Veins
Veins,
a very important part of the human circulatory system, often become
diseased. The veins that become cosmetically unappealing are
spider veins (telanglectasia’s) and larger veins, which
often protrude under the skin called varicose veins. Both
forms are treatable. Sclerotherapy involves the injection of
a “sclerosing” fluid into the vessel to irritate
the inner lining and cause closure. Once the vessel has closed,
blood does not pass through, making the vessel invisible.
Often achieved with one treatment, although secondary treatments
are possible.
Segmental
vein resection is reserved for longer varicose veins in which
Sclerotherapy would not be practical. These veins are removed
in segments through small punctures in the skin along the
course of the vessel. Each procedure are highly effective.
