Face
Lift / Rhytidectomy
As
modern care lengthens life, you may feel physically and mentally
vigorous long after your appearance begins to deteriorate.
The elastic tissue of the skin stretches as lines deepen on
the forehead and the sides of the mouth. Pouches develop along
the jaw line and some faces become etched with wrinkles.
A Face
lift offers you a more youthful appearance through tightening
the muscles of the face and neck in addition to the removal
of excess skin from the face and neck. Incisions are made
in the natural creases and hair-bearing areas to conceal scars.
Modern day face lifts offer much quicker recoveries as compared
to those in the past. Often patients are back in the spotlight
in as little as a week after surgery. The correct diagnosis
is important in any consideration of a face lift. Some patients
only require a neck lift while others may need a complete face
lift, possibly with liposuction to remove excess fat from
the chin and jowls. Eyelid surgery is usually not part of
the face lift but may be performed at the same time.
Another
proceedure often combined with a facelift is the CO2 Laser
Facial. The Pulsed CO2 Laser may be used in combination for
resurfacing the whole face or limited to the resurfacing
the lines around the eyes, mouth or forehead.
