Breast
Reduction
Large,
heavy breasts can be uncomfortable to many women. Extra large
breasts can cause both physical and psychological problems.
Women with large breasts may complain of chronic neck, back
and shoulder pain. It also causes chronic skin irritation
and pigment changes of the skin under the breasts.
Two
options now exist for women seeking a reduction in the size
of their breasts.
The
more traditional approach involves removal of excess breast
tissue while reshaping the breasts and raising the nipple
to a more natural position. This procedure results in a smaller,
lifted and more shapely breast. Scars are minimized around
the nipple and underside of the breast.
A more contemporary approach uses External
Ultrasonic Liposuction in which high frequency sound wave
are applied externally to the breast tissue to allow reduction
of the breast through three small puncture sites discretely
placed under the breast (2) and in the armpit (1). Although
the breast is not lifted, many women have experienced contraction
of skin to the point where further surgery to lift the breast
has been unnecessary or not desired.
